Welcome back to The Mindset by Super Age.

We are stronger, braver, and more capable than we often realize. This central belief of Super Age was deeply affirmed for me last week, when I spent time with the “Ice Man” himself, Wim Hof. His mission—and ours—is to help us all see beyond the limits we’ve unconsciously set for ourselves and imagine new, bolder possibilities.

We can only move toward what we allow ourselves to envision. Being around someone like Wim opens that door, revealing just how much we might accomplish at a level we hadn’t dared to imagine before.

This isn’t just about sitting in ice. It’s about being fully present, more loving, more ambitiously human, and living longer and healthier. So, as you read this newsletter today, consider what you’ve already overcome—and what you might yet overcome today or tomorrow. In doing so, you not only expand your own potential but also inspire those around you.

Onwards and upward!

Future Proof

Brain Power, Unlocked

Just 40 minutes of walking, three times a week, can actually turn back the clock on brain aging. A meta-analysis in Neuroimage reveals that this simple routine can increase hippocampal volume—the brain’s memory center—by 2%. That’s a reversal of about 1-2 years of age-related decline. Regular brisk walks aren’t just energizing—they actively protect your brain’s resilience. Think of it as the ultimate low-tech brain boost, giving your mind the support it needs to stay sharp, year after year. You can do this.

Body Wisdom

Better Sleep, Better Life

More than a third of adults don’t get enough sleep. The results add up to more than feeling tired—lack of sleep ripples through your whole body, making it harder to fight off infections, regulate metabolism, and even process emotions. A good night’s sleep, on the other hand, fuels longevity, powering brain health, emotional resilience, and physical vitality. One simple way to improve your sleep quality is to step outside 15 minutes after waking to soak up some natural light.

This tiny habit synchronizes our internal clock in two essential ways: First, it signals our brain to stop producing the sleep hormone melatonin. Second, it sets a timer for melatonin production to restart 14 hours later, priming you for deep, restorative sleep. Bonus: every additional 10-15 minutes of sun exposure (for fair-skinned individuals) or 30-45 minutes (for those with darker skin tones) can nudge your vitamin D up by 1 ng/mL, reducing the odds of poor sleep by 4.2%.

Skin Revival

Four Ways to Hydrate Your Skin

In Japan, they use the word “yuragi-hada” to describe seasonal skin sensitivity. In the winter months, our skin takes a beating as the cool air causes our skin to naturally produce fewer oils, making it more prone to dryness. Protect and nourish your skin with these simple yet powerful practices: Take shorter, cooler showers to protect natural oils. Lock in hydration by applying moisturizer right after toweling off.

Choose products with ceramides and hyaluronic acid for extra resilience. Avoid dryer sheets, perfumed soaps, or any added fragrances—they strip moisture and can irritate. One product that frequently tops many best winter moisturizer lists is SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2, known for its ability to restore and deeply hydrate. Do you have skin issues? Beholding Art Boosts the Immune System

Experiencing awe—whether through the vast beauty of nature, a powerful piece of art, or a moving symphony—does more than lift our spirits; it also dials down inflammation in the body. Researchers found that awe-filled moments lower levels of Interleukin-6, a key inflammatory marker linked to conditions like type-2 diabetes, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s. The feelings of awe, wonder, and amazement resulted in the lowest levels the inflammatory marker. Turns out, simply losing yourself in beauty isn’t just good for the soul—it’s a direct boost to immune health.

Jennifer Garner’s Electra Smoothie. Start your day the way Jen does when she’s in superhero mode: 1 serving protein powder, 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed, 1 Tbsp chia seeds, 1 Tbsp almond butter (sometimes more), 1 cup almond milk, a handful of fresh spinach, a handful of ice, and a small (sometimes not so small) handful of berries. Mix all ingredients together in a blender and enjoy. Best served cold!
